Cassie Smith, M.D.

Cassie Smith, MD, was born in the small town of Lebanon, Missouri where she lived with her parents and younger sister until leaving for college. Cassie attended the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine's combined B.A./M.D program. She completed her residency at the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine, and was a Chief Resident at her training program. She then completed her Fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City. She was drawn to this fellowship program due to its affiliation with the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center, where she worked on many clinical trials. While in fellowship she met her husband, Rob McNaughton, who is an Oklahoma City native. Rob’s love for OU football and a proposal kept Cassie in Oklahoma City. She has grown to love the city and is pleased to see how much it has developed since she moved here in 2015.

Dr. Smith is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and The American Board of Endocrinology, Diabetes, & Metabolism. Her professional memberships include; The Endocrine Society, The American Diabetes Association, and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.

When she is not working, Cassie enjoys taking her dog, Penelope, for walks, going on outdoor runs with Rob, reading books, exercising, and traveling. She would like to become fluent in Spanish and to be able to play 18 holes of “real golf” with Rob one day.
